I love that Darken chooses not to take Kahlan's free will. It's right. I know what you mean, and I'm glad you think so ;D That's really Darken's mistake in Pris's fic, Hollow - he realizes too late that it's no fun just being one master and thousands of slaves. In fact, in this story, I think that's a point of commonality for Darken and Kahlan - in some sense, only another Confessor can understand what a burden it is to be so completely adored.
