I have to wonder about how your Kahlan will react when Darken really does appear in the flesh, wanting not to destroy the world but to save himself from the Keeper - When the nightmare overlaps with reality, but is also very different. Good question - I think she really struggles with how part of her nightmares might come true - and I'd say her initial reaction, at least, would be not to believe that Darken really wants to save the world. Making him a complete monster is one way she uses to deny the attraction she has for him (and he is the only person immune to her power...that's a temptation in and of itself, since she still thinks she'll have to take a mate).
