I enjoy OC's as long as they're well-written, which your's are, and not Mary-Sues, which your's are not. I'm glad to hear it ;D And I agree, particularly about seeing canon characters from a different perspective.
I am really torn on the male Confessor thing so I never know whether I should hold out hope for Nicholas or just resign him to being a lost cause from birth. Likewise...it's something I really struggle with, because I don't think male Confessors being so likely to be evil justifies infanticide, but then if you wait for them to become unstoppable, that has its own issues...Of course, I also find it interesting that Kahlan must be similarly torn - is he evil? Or is she just overreacting?
And I think both Darken and Kahlan begin with certain misconceptions about Nicholas - I know vorquellyn brought up the possibility that Nicholas Confessed Ethan by accident, for example.
