Somehow I like this "dark" Richard much better. He still thinks he knows best and is ignorant of such many of his flaws but at least he's accepted his duties and doesn't rush to save every kitten from a tree.
The story has a very dark shadow hanging over it. Like something's really, really bad is about to happen and there's nothing you can do about it. I liked it.))
R/K/C in this interpretation was very nice too. It's not something I usually read cause I prefer pairings with Darken more (yeah, big surprise here) but I'd found that for once I didn't mind Richard all that much. ^_^
